CHS Alumni Newsletter #1
August 17, 2005

35 Years have passed since the doors of Livonia Churchill first opened in September of 1971. (Note: Chris has been corrected on this date since this newsletter first went out!) This will be the third year that we have been putting together an Alumni group of sorts. We are not official in anyway - just Gayle and I putting together newsletters and running the message board, Gayle running the Alumni Website, and the two of us, with the help of Denise Vick-Reed putting on the Summer Bash.

We have had a lot of feedback from Alumni, and this year even had some help from some of the Churchill Administration. Mr. Anderson, the Principal, helped us promote the Bash this year on the lighted sign at the front of the school. We sponsored the Churchill Athletic Patrons Association golf outing. I will be asking Mr. Anderson if he could put the Alumni website address there for the rest of the year.

If anyone would be interested in purchasing shirts or sweaters for Churchill Alumni let us know. We will be talking to the teacher who runs the Big Red Shed. Could be a great Christmas gift idea.

In case you missed it we had a pretty good turn out for the Summer Bash.

Met a lot of new people and almost covered expenses. As we grow each year I think next year will be bigger and better. I will go and stand in line on November 1st to get a date for next year’s event. We will be posting the date as soon as possible. Anyone wishing to put together teams for softball or kickball please let us know.

In case people don’t know it we have a message board. So far, that is growing also. Please feel free to join us. Just click on the button marked Delphi Forums at www.ChurchillAlumni.com. If you have not been there before, they will ask you to fill out some info. There are many levels of membership in Delphi. If all you want to do is read and post in “The Churchillians” message board there is no charge.

We also have a great place to share photos of the kids and grandkids. My, are we really getting that old? I t seems only yesterday I was stalking Gayle in the halls of Churchill! We now have three kids between us, 22, 21 and 19. Please forward any pictures you would like posted to Alumni@ChurchillAlumni.com, along with descriptions for each photo. With as busy as we have been this summer we are still updating the photo album. Bash pictures should be up soon.

Please feel free to pass around this newsletter to any friends or friends of Alumni. With everyone’s help we can make the Alumni website a great place to come and find old classmates. And it’s all for free.
